The recent ChatGPT boom has brought attention to various cloud services and apps that leverage AI. With the rapid release of new services from different companies, it has become challenging to keep track of all the information. To provide a general overview, I have roughly categorized some prominent services into three genres: “Interactive AI Services," “Image Generation AI Services," and “Video Generation AI Services." Please note that account registration is generally required to use these services. Additionally, some services are offered as paid subscriptions, and the monthly fees for such services are indicated.

ChatGPT is an interactive AI service developed by OpenAI. After the prototype was released in November 2022, it took just two months to acquire 100 million active users, making it the fastest-growing service in history. This highlights the high level of attention it has received. In addition to normal chat functionality, ChatGPT is capable of handling a wide range of tasks, including calculations, generating and debugging code, generating and summarizing text, language translation, and even generating music (lyrics and chord progressions). With the release of GPT-4, various plugins are expected to be introduced, further expanding its utility and ensuring its increased adoption in the future.

Stable Diffusion is an image generation AI service provided by Stability AI. There are various ways to utilize Stable Diffusion. The common method is to use DreamStudio, which is offered on Stability AI’s platform. However, it is also possible to use it as a Python module on a local PC environment or through web services that incorporate Stable Diffusion, such as Hugging Face and mage.space. Additionally, StableStudio, released in May 2023, is an open-source version of DreamStudio. It has replaced the backend with a plugin system that allows easy swapping of API calls, and users can create their own plugins using Type Script.

Bing Image Creator is an image generation AI service provided by Microsoft. The backend system utilizes OpenAI’s DALL-E. Since the original DALL-E from OpenAI no longer has a free tier, Bing Image Creator can be a viable option for those who want to try out an image generation AI service, at least as a trial.
Adobe Firefly

Adobe Firefly (beta version) is an AI image generation service provided by Adobe. While the previous Midjourney scrapes its training data from the internet, Adobe Firefly obtains its training data from Adobe Stock, their own service, ensuring clearance regarding issues of portrait rights. Additionally, it appears that commercial use will be possible for images created with Adobe Firefly after the official release.
Video generation AI service
Video generation AI service is a service where AI, using machine learning, provides appropriate responses to users’ envisioned videos in text format. There is also a pattern where videos are generated based on uploaded images, in addition to text format.
